BJC Medical Group is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Gastroenterologist to practice with Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital and Progress West Hospital in St. Charles County, Missouri.

Position Highlights:
Join a cohesive and dynamic group of 4 Gastroenterologists in a robust, established practice
Ample support staff including collaboration with 3 Advanced Practice Providers
Mentorship available
Be busy from the start with a large primary care referral base
General GI with ERCP availability
36 clinical hours per week
Inpatient and outpatient responsibilities plus blocked time in the GI lab
Anticipate 1-2 days in the clinic
Established providers see 12 - 15 patients in the clinic and perform 10-12 scopes per day
Based at Progress West Hospital during the week
Shared weekend call of 1:5
Patients are typically 18 years and older
Office hours are M-Thurs 8 am - 4 pm and Fridays 8 am - 12 pm

Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital is a 101-bed community hospital providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services including the Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital, Breast Health and Women’s Center, Cardiology Center, a nationally accredited Sleep and Breathing Lab, and the Outpatient Surgery and Endoscopy Center. The hospital also has a 35-bed inpatient rehabilitation facility, operated by The Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis, a joint partnership between BJC HealthCare and HealthSouth Corporation.
Progress West Hospital has the latest in facility design, technology and patient-centered care, including 44 private beds, 24-hour adult and pediatric emergency services, surgical services, cardiac catheterization lab, inpatient services, obstetrical services and diagnostic imaging. Role Purpose
Ensures optimal care and promotes safety of patients admitted to assigned service in cooperation with the private attending staff and nursing staff. Communicates with staff, patients, and families.
Responsibilities
Manages the medical care of assigned patients.
Collaborates with patients, families, and members of the health care team to ensure excellent clinical outcomes.
Performs and documents histories and physicals in the patient's medical record as required by hospital by-laws.
Supervises and instructs medical students and residents assigned to service. Assists in the learning needs of residents and students as assessed.
